MUSIC AND SOUND EFFECTS FOR BEAT 'EM UPS
Congratulations! By buying this disk you can now use any of the modules on
this disk in
any
of your
PD
,
Shareware
or
Licenceware
games. They are
in the
Soundtracker ,
MOD
format and the
Amos
ABK
format so are fully
compatible with all versions of
Amos
above
v1.1
and any other language as
long as you have the relevant playroutine (the minimum is
Noisetracker
v1.0
or later). You
must
also credit me as the composer of the music in your
program or in its documentation. If you are feeling really generous, a free
copy of the finished game would be nice...
If you get in touch with me, I can help with many of the problems arising
with
Amos
and my modules and I can always give you a constructive view of
your program. By reading the
Amoszine
diskmag (available from
F1
Licenceware) you can read my bi-monthly
music column
, featuting loads of
information about music and
Amos
.
As well as ten comercial quality modules, there is also a drawer containing
33 IFF format sampled sound effects, suitable for most programming
environments. They are all suitable for Beat 'Em Ups and include punches,
hits, screams and so on. These samples are all PD, and may be distributed
in any way. Please note that the MUSIC is all copyrighted and can only be
used by the original purchaser of this disk.
Game Music Volume 1
(F1-O64) features a selection of modules that will fit
in perfectly with the
Variation 1
music on this disk if you need any more
tunes.
IMORTANT WARNING:
I accept no responsibility for anybody who dies laughing
at my pathetic title screen!

CONTENTS:
This disk contains the following drawers, each
containing two modules. Because this disk runs in themes, all the VARIATION
1 modules have been designed go together and all the VARIATION 2 modules
designed to go together. Roughly speaking, VARIATION 1 modules were
designed for the traditional `Oriental' Beat 'Em Ups (e.g. International
Karate) and the VARIATION 2 modules for modern style Beat 'Em Ups (e.g. Body
Blows)
Main_Themes
Two modules in
Soundtracker
format. These are large, full length mods
that last approximately 3 minutes.
High_Score_Table
Another two
Soundtracker
modules. They are shorther than the Main Themes,
lasting approximately 2 minutes each.
Win_&_Lose
Four
Soundtracker
modules. They are only one block long and are based on
the short ditties played in, for example,
Mortal Kombat
when the player wins
or loses a bout. When used from
Amos
, please ensure that the
Soundtracker
looping system is turned off before they are played by using
`Track Loop Of'
In-game_Music
Two modules in
Amos Music bank
and
Soundtracker
format.
The modules are split into two drawers:
ABK
and
MOD
. Both drawers contain
exactly the same
modules but the
ABK
format mods are for
Amos
only. I
DO
NOT recommend using the
Soundtracker
modules in
Amos
as it does some very
strange things to them. From
Amos
, use the modules like this:
Load "ABK/<Module Name>",3
To load the music, then from direct
mode,
Music 1
To play them. The tempo and volume
can be altered using the relevant
commands.

NOTE: You may not use any of these modules in a commercial game. If you want
music for a piece of commercial software, please contact me at the address
below so we can discuss what music is required for the game and how much I
will be paid
